direction of Bindery Supervisor, this position is responsible for assisting operators
and other team members in project set-up, quality control, and project
completion. Essential Functions: 1.
Perform job duties and conduct self in accordance
with Allen Press, Inc. core values. 2. Read project specification sheet
to determine setup specifications and instructions. 3. Retrieve project signatures for
collator machine setup. 4. Arrange signatures onto collator
tables in appropriate order. 5. Examine finish product for defects
such as imperfect bindings, ink spots, torn or loose pages, etc. 6. Remove, stack and wrap finished
product for warehousing in accordance with specifications. 7.
Record production activities and times in
timekeeping system (Covalent) according to protocol. 8.
Stock inventory as needed. 9.
Perform other duties as assigned. Education/Experience/Abilities: 1.High School diploma or
equivalent required. 2.Experience operating a
pallet jack and power lift preferred. 3.Previous bindery work
experience preferred. 4.

and track production jobs sent to and received from typesetting vendor.
Coordinate the onboarding and transitioning of new
and existing titles to the typesetting vendor’s conventional workflow.
Interface with the typesetting vendor’s development team to research and
resolve errors resulting from problems with the tagger, style tool, and
templates. Assist with in-house typesetting production as necessary. Essential Functions: 1. Perform job duties and conduct self in

typesetting vendor has all necessary job components to complete and deliver
quality work in timely manner. 3. Efficiently operate office equipment
necessary to send and receive to and from typesetting vendor all electronic and

Press personnel have all relevant job
components to proofread, print, and post online. 5. Track jobs and coordinate with both

solve problems and keep production moving. 8. Eliminate systematic paging errors
following the Process/Technology Errors Protocol. 9. For in-house titles, enter corrections to
text, tables, and math as marked by proofreaders or editors. 10. For in-house titles, re-key lines, typeset
occasional new type. 11. Fulfill special requests from supervisor. 12. Recognize and report need for procedural
changes. 13. Keep supervisor abreast of scheduling
problems. 14. Bring problems/issues to attention of
supervisor. 15. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience/Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 2. Background in computer programming,
mathematics, science, copyediting, proofreading, or printing. 3. Practical experience typesetting with
desktop systems, though 3B2 software preferred. 4. Practical experience with markup languages
(SGML, XML). 5. Familiarity with proofreading/copyediting
instructions preferred. 6. An aptitude for a second language

Clerk will ensure that mail list files and mailing and shipping specification
sheets that have been prepared for the purpose of mailing and shipping bound

Duties include overseeing editorial work flow, prioritizing work, problem-solving
workflow issues, providing feedback and training as necessary, meeting with
new and existing customers, and demonstrating company core values. Essential Functions: 1.
Perform job duties and conducts self in accordance with Allen Press,
Inc. core values. 2.
Supervise a team of copyeditors, copyeditor coordinators, table/math
technicians, proofreaders, assistants, and contractors. 3.
Monitor workflow to ensure that jobs are being done in a timely
manner. 4.
Set the goals, priorities, and tone of Editorial Services. 5.
Assess current states of Editorial Services: quality of copyediting
and proofreading, the relationship with other areas, the number of in-house
personnel versus the work coming into the areas, and the effectiveness of
day-to-day procedures. 6.
Continually examine industry standards for contractor rates and
working conditions and suggest any necessary changes to help Allen Press,
Inc. remain competitive. 7.
Assist the copyediting and proofreading coordinators with the
following tasks: 1. Monitoring of the contractor pool
in relation to existing and foreseeable work flow. 2. Recruitment of copyediting and
proofreading contractors as needed. 3. Development and maintenance of
effective procedures for evaluating potential and existing proofreading and
copyediting contractors and in-house employees. 4. Delivery and maintenance of
training materials to existing and new personnel and contractors. 8.
Provide Manager of Content Processing and Editorial Services with
regular status reports covering the\ status of
Editorial Services projects and individual performance. 9.
Participate in on-site and off-site meetings with customers as needed. 10.
Consult with prospective customers and evaluate sample journals to

Travel as needed to conferences and seminars to keep abreast of
current state of publishing industry in relation to copyediting and

Technical or Business Communications, Journalism or related field preferred. 2. 1–2 years of experience in

principles. 5. Ability to resolve a range of
problems associated with a deadline-oriented environment. 6. Ability to cross-train and learn
